7 Steps of the Selling Process
Step 1 – Select a REALTOR®
As in any profession, there are average and there are good Realtors. If you do not have a recommendation from a trusted source, then you are forced to make that decision on your own.
Step 2 – The Selling Consultation
The consultation will cost you nothing and will provide valuable information in getting you home sold for the highest price in the least amount of time.
Step 3 – Preparing Your Home for Sale
Utilization of all marketing methods available is worthless if there is no effort made to prepare the home to sell. If you want the maximum price from your home, you will need to inspire buyers to offer the maximum.
Step 4 – Staging Your Home to Sell
Did you know well-placed furniture can open up rooms and make them seem larger? Or, that opening drapes and blinds and turning on lights make a room seem bright and cheery?
Step 5 – Negotiating The Offer
Home sellers who have chosen the right REALTOR® prepared their home for sale and priced it right are strongly positioned for a smooth real estate transaction, but perhaps the most complex moment in the sales process comes when you get an offer for your home.
Step 6 – Inspection and Appraisal Repairs
First things first: You’ve got to get those repairs done. We get it—the last thing you want to do now is work on a house you are about to sell.
Step 7 – Closing Day
Before your closing date—often 24 hours before—the buyers and the buyers’ agent will do one more walkthrough of the house (for which you should not be present).
